We are long time Alaskans, with a family lodging business located on the bank of the Kenai River. We are constantly being told that we go overboard by providing above average service and amenities that we feel will enhance your Alaska visit while lodging at Alaska River Cabin.

Alaska River Cabin is located at river milepost 25.6, on the South side of the
World famous KENAI RIVER.

Our location is within the boundaries of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, yet only a 10 minute drive to downtown Soldotna.

Your fishing spot on the Kenai River, is an area known as SWIFT WATER, which is midway between Skilak Lake and Cook Inlet. This section of the River is popular for SOCKEYE fishing, as the River runs fast, and the fish have a tendency to all point upstream against the current, making for an easy hook set in the mouth. We’ve lived on the Kenai River for 35 years, and have hosted countless family, friends and guests during that time. Nothing is more exciting than to see a huge grin when someone hooks into a SOCKEYE for the very first time.

The Kenai Peninsula is like a mini-Alaska, compressing all of the state’s features into an area roughly 3 percent the size of the state. You’ll find mountains, ice fields and glaciers, fjords and offshore islands, large fish-filled rivers and lakes, swampy plains, varied climate and  precipitation, a few scattered port towns, cities of Kenai, Homer and Seward…

…and we are located right in the middle of it all…
